2024 Hyundai Kona Review

The new 2024 Kona is bigger and more stylish than ever, and they’ll be arriving this summer at South Shore Hyundai. And while these latest models will be offering the same eye-catching appeal and dependability of their predecessors, Hyundai Kona is expected to do big things for model year 2024. These new Kona models come with a more ruggedly refined look than previous models, and while they’re not afraid to take on the off-road, these subcompact SUVs were made to own the urban jungle. 

Similar to the previous generation, the 2024 Kona will be powered by one of two gas-fed four-cylinder engines. A 147-hp 2.0-liter engine comes standard, but a more powerful 190-hp turbocharged 1.6-liter engine is optional. The more futuristic exterior styling of the Hyundai Kona extends to the interior, which is designed around two 12.3-inch displays located on the dashboard. 2024 Kona models are more spacious than the last-generation, thanks in large part to a longer wheelbase and slimmer front seat backs that free up more space for rear-seat riders.

What’s New for 2024?

Kona has been completely redesigned for the 2024 model year, featuring a more modern look and feel on the outside, along with a fresh layout and enhanced innovation once you step inside. The 2024 Hyundai Kona N Line trim comes with all of the features included in the optional Convenience package available for the lower trim levels, which includes a 12.3-inch infotainment display, a separate 12.3-inch digital gauge display, heated front seats, a wireless smartphone charging pad, on-board Wi-Fi, adaptive cruise control with a lane-centering feature and much more.

Kona Infotainment and Interior Enhancements

Inside the new 2024 Hyundai Kona, dual 12.3-inch displays dominate the dashboard and are sandwiched behind one continuous piece of glass. The first of the two is a reconfigurable gauge display, while the second is a large touchscreen that interacts with the infotainment system. When you’re driving a 2024 Hyundai Kona, staying connected is easier than ever before.

It’s immediately apparent that the 2024 Kona will offer a more spacious interior than the previous-generation model, due in no small part to a longer overall body length and a stretched wheelbase. Kona’s interior design is straightforward but futuristic and features a column-mounted shifter, available leather upholstery and rich-looking ambient lighting. Hyundai engineers have also implemented a slimmer front seat-back design that provides extra legroom for rear-seat passengers, helping to make every drive in Hyundai Kona more enjoyable for everyone.

Practical SUV Performance

Both four-cylinder engines from the previous-generation Hyundai Kona carry over to the new 2024 model. The entry-level offering will include a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter engine, while a turbocharged 190-horsepower 1.6-liter engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission is optional. All 2024 Hyundai Kona models will come with a full suite of driver-assistance features. Some of these features are fairly common, such as automated emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring, but new 2024 Kona models can also be equipped with features such as a driver-monitoring system, a self-parking feature and more.
